Advocating for Montana’s Visitor Economy

Tourism Matters to Montana is a collaborative group of regional, CVB, and TBID destination marketing and management organizations (DMOs) working alongside key industry partners to advocate for Montana’s travel industry. As one of the state’s largest economic sectors, tourism supports local businesses, creates jobs, and generates tax revenue that funds essential services in communities across Montana.

Through education, outreach, and advocacy, Tourism Matters to Montana works to:

  • Inform policymakers and the public about the economic and social benefits of tourism.
  • Protect and sustain tourism funding to ensure continued investment in communities, infrastructure, and public lands.
  • Support responsible growth and destination management that balances visitor demand with resident quality of life.

A strong visitor economy means vibrant businesses, well-maintained public lands, and thriving communities. By working with legislators, business owners, and local leaders, we ensure that tourism continues to benefit all Montanans.

Tourism Matters to Montana—because when our visitor economy thrives, Montana thrives.
