Voices of Montana Tourism to Host Weekly Legislative Call, Everyone Welcome to Join

Montana rings in the new year with hopes for a prosperous 2023 as state lawmakers arrive in Helena in service to their constituents and their state to meet for the 68th Montana Legislative Session.

There are a record number of bill drafts submitted and for those who are familiar with the process, things can move quickly which can be difficult to track.  Hundreds, maybe more bills will make their journey through committee hearings, floor sessions, amendments, debates, multiple votes, then again in the opposite chamber before reaching the Governor's desk to become law, or not with a veto.

Fortunately, Montana's citizen legislature provides incredible public access to participate in the process through outreach to lawmakers and public comment and testimony during committee hearings.

However, as an industry stakeholder and serving your guests or customers, leading your teams, or promoting your business or community, there isn't a lot of time to be reading every news story or watching hours of MPAN.

That is where Voices of Montana Tourism and its supporters can help, within our non-profit mission of industry collaboration through education, we will host a weekly call every Wednesday of the session at noon, starting January 11th.

The intent of the meetings are to provide all travel industry champions an opportunity to catch up by the professionals who are in the Capitol Halls every day and tracking the highest priority bills.  Lobbyists representing Lodging, DMO's, the Travel Association, along with other important perspectives will provide a first-hand account of legislative activity and needs, if they exist.
